MANU LAPIERE

Biography

Manu is a versatile award-winning Director / DOP with a portfolio of nearly 140 commercials over the last 14 years.

Originally from Belgium, based in South Africa, he started his carrier as a cinematographer, and quickly became a proud member of the South African Society of Cinematographers (SASC). Manu transitioned his focus to exclusively directing TV commercials, developing his comedy style mixed with life action and CGI.

Having shot in more than 30 countries across Africa, Europe, the USA, the UAE, and India, Manu has left his creative imprint on international brands such as Lipton Iced Tea, Kellogg’s, premium beers and products from industry giants Pepsi Co and Coca Cola Co.

Recent tributes include two Bronze awards at the Pitcher Festival 2024 which is the representative of the Cannes Festival in Africa, for TVC Beaufort Beer starring French singer R&B Singuila, and for XXL Trolley.

Cristal Award (Gold) at the Cristal festival 2023 in Morocco, a Bronze award at the 2023 Pitcher Festival. In 2022, he secured a Gold and a Silver at the Pitchers Awards, marking consistent excellence in his craft.

Manu is based in South Africa.
